Claremont, Calif. (February 27, 2017) — Pitzer College is ranked #19 for “Best Financial Aid” in The Princeton Review’s new book, 2017 Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck. The education services company’s “Best Financial Aid” list includes liberal arts colleges and universities from across the country. Last year, The Princeton Review ranked Pitzer College #9 in “Great Financial Aid” among liberal arts colleges in The Best 381 Colleges.
The Princeton Review’s “Best Financial Aid” rating reflects the amount of financial aid a school provides and student satisfaction with that aid. The rating is based on school-reported data on the percentage of students who were determined to have need and received aid, the percentage of need met for those students and the percentage of students whose need was fully met. Students’ satisfaction with their aid packages is measured through surveys.
Pitzer College is committed to meeting 100 percent of every admitted student’s demonstrated need through a financial aid package that includes grants, work-study jobs and loans. The average need-based financial aid scholarship is more than $45,300 for full-time students. The College has made financial aid a primary commitment in its fundraising efforts.
The Colleges That Pay You Back financial aid list reflects The Claremont Colleges’ commitment to making a great education affordable to all, with Pomona College topping the rankings at #1 and Claremont McKenna College coming in at #21.
